The Truth of The Night

I sit here, silent,

at the edge of the road.

Weeping for the love

I have lost.

My clothes, they are wet,

damp with the rain..

and my shoes are

covered with blood.

His blood..

The blood from my love,

he's gone now...forever.

Taken to heaven-

taken too young.

As the truth sinks in,

I recall the night.

the fight

the gun

the shot

the blood...

And now he is gone..
